A little more.

Let's do a little more random thinking for the day, shall we?!

I just got off the phone with my friend, Christina.
I have known her for over 20 years.
We are still best friends.
I am listening to a compilation.
It is called Dark was the Night. Please check it out.
I usually have to wait 15-20 minutes after I get out of the shower to dry my hair.
It ends up softer that way.
Today I am wearing a super cute skirt.
Yesterday i wore a super cute dress.
My outfits have just been super cute lately.
I own blue eye liner. and i wear it. and enjoy it.
grooveshark.com is my favorite website while at work.
One of the girls at work is leaving today.
i am going to miss her so much.
I am not afraid to admit that i have seen new moon 3x in the theatre.
My sister Kaitlyn and i are going to see it together as well.
Possibly my mom, too.
Today is a Friday.
That means that it is my night to cook.
At work. for 12 people (give or take).
I do not have any ideas.
I have been rocking dark purple fingernail polish.
Black, you are out.
I was asked if i was emo.
I said no.
The skirt that I am wearing is Miley Cyrus.
Not afraid to admit that.
I now need to go dry my hair.

Random Thoughts...

I really and truly have nothing exciting to write about.
Life is going fine.
The weather is ok. (there is snow on the ground, but whatever)
Im sitting at work with all of my paperwork done 2 hours before my shift ends (YES!).
I have a Dove chocolate sitting next to me, but im deciding to chew gum instead.
I have lost my burt's bees chapstick. I am saddened by that.
I rediscovered my Mary Kay Satin Lips lip balm so that will be my friend for now.
It has been over 2 weeks since I have worn a pair of pants.
I have been told that I have awesome style. Go Figure!
The Timberwolves lost tonight. Please do not laugh at me.
I love working with my Tuesday/Wednesday swing staff. We are amazing.
Kids at work call me "Roarin'" & "Alice." Im not sure if they have called me Lauren in awhile.
My mom misses me.
I miss my mom.
My sisters miss me.
I never thought that would happen. Now im glad it has.
I do not like germs. At work i do not give high 5's. I give high elbows.
That's what i did at preschool when their hands were messy from painting.
We started the movie "UP" at work tonight. Good movie.
One of the kids at work informed me that he had to wear red to school today.
He said i would have fit in with my red hair.
I think that my red tights are my favorite. for now.
I was asked tonight if i was a natural blonde. whatever.
While at work, i have to use a pen that has a cap on it. or else.
I think that I have a small diagnosis of OCD.

One of my favorites

Whoa Im back! Sorry it's been awhile. Too many things going on to blog~! Sorry to keep you waiting!

Today I've decided to start something new. I just thought of this about 1 minute ago actually. Im going to start highlighting some of the blogs that I follow.

I've decided to start with the one that I've read from the beginning, and check every day, first thing!

My friend Summer over here has been blogging for ever a year, and I have loved every minute of it. It is a sad day when there is no new post, but when she does post, it is amazing~!

I hope that you go check it out and can appreciate it as much as I do. I definitely love her Christmas posts. They are truly so cheery and bright!

Feces

Say what?! What a strange and gross title!
I know. Trust me i know. I just needed to edit myself a little.
Do you ever have those days where nothing seems to go right?
Where you think that you've finally found out of things to go wrong
yet somehow they do?

Welcome to my life.
That is somehow the way my life works.
I dont know about any of you,
but there are days what i am just done.
Done with problems.
Done with being tired.
Done with stress.
Days where you just want to stay in bed for a week
and do nothing.

That is where i am at today.
Im tired. im stressed. i have a lot to think about
and just dont have the mind capacity for it.

There. I have said it.

Snow days

Oh how I lived for those. I would deliver papers, and if I knew there probably shouldn't be school I would go in and check the tv for school closings. And then last year when I worked in a school system, I loved checking to see if we had school or not, because that meant no work! WooHoo!

Here's the funny part of it all....
I live in Alaska. Juneau to be precise.
There is more snow in Mankato, MN than there is in Juneau, AK.
What are the odds?! I keep seeing everyone's status' on facebook talking about
stocking up on food, diapers, etc. before "the big blizzard hits."
Wait, blizzard? I dont know if i have ever even seen a true blizzard in MN.
Im watching the Today show and it's talking about the wonderful weather that they are supposed to be getting. 9-12 inches?! Say what?! Geez~!!!

I guess it just needed to wait for me to leave!
I don't mind! It's sunny today. The drive to work is going to be wonderful.
The drive home from work is going to be great.
I can deal with this.
Snow, please stay away during my work week.

Skirts

Yes. You read it right. Skirts. I have been living in them.
Oh boy, I have never loved wearing something so much in a long time.
(I realize the previous sentence does not make sense. It is late i am at work and tired. please bear with me.)

Anyway, I have fallen in love with the skirt. Or the dress with a simple short over it to make it look like a skirt. I knew my laundry needed to be done today, but did not have a skirt to wear. What did I do? Well thank you for asking! I went to the nearest store (walmart in my case) and purchased a skirt. for a steal. $5 for a super cute jean skirt. I am in love. It's longer but still above the knee, and looks rockin' with my xtra tuffs. Here is a description of the ensemble that I have been sporting lately (I am at work so pictures will have to wait):

1 super cute top (usually long sleeve)
1 pair tights (SUPER fun ones. I dont just go black or nude.)
1 pair xtra tuffs (you know it)
2 pairs socks (1 regular, and another for warmth)
1 Skirt (or dress)

Add slowly to a cute hairstyle and accessorize accordingly. Feel free to switch it up here and there. The key to keeping my outfit casual enough for work is all in the footwear. I choose to wear my tuffs because lets face it. Working in a house with teens is not the best place to rock the hooker boots. I save those for holidays and other special occasions.

There you have it. My attire for the entire week. I wore cargo pants today, and was not impressed. Did not enjoy them at all. Hence the new $5 skirt.

21 Days

I've often heard that it takes 21 days to make or break a habit.

Here is my change. Im going to start a new habit. Something that I've done off and on for awhile, but need to turn into a habit.

Washing my face before I go to bed. Lately I have been breaking out like crazy. Nothing too serious, but enough to annoy me. So, i went to the store and purchased the products that I think will help me in my endeavor.

Burt's Bees Deep Cleansing
Clean & Clear astringent
Burt's Bees blemish remover
Clean & Clear moisturizer

There. That is my face washing routine.
Ask me how I'm doing!
Feel Free!
Tonight is the 2nd night.
Only 19 to go.

The big kicker will be when I've worked 4-midnight, get home at 12:30, and just want to crash.
We shall see.

Courageously admitting that I don't wash my face every night,
Lauren
